PTYSM has been providing enhancing access to justice for women and marginalized groups in coordination with Ministry of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs (MOLJAP), United Nations Development Program (UNDP) in four Municipalities of Jajarkot and Rukum Districts. Among these two Municipalities (Nalgaad municipality and Barekot rural municipality) are in Jajarkot District whereas two are in Rukum (West) District (Aaathbiskot Rural Municipality and Sanibheri Municipality). The organization has been strengthening the justice sector institutions to provide effective legal/judicial remedies as well as protection of human rights in line with national and international standards and empowering people, in particular women, Dalit, PWD, LGBTQI+, poor, and other marginalized groups to claim their rights and participate in judicial governance/civic life. To enhance access to justice and social justice, the organization has initiated following activities:
- Made commitment with Sanibheri and Barekot rural municipalities of Rukum District had committed to providing financial support and reward to inter-caste married couples under which a policy and budget program is also included.
- Regarding the rights, protection, promotion, and implementation of the Dalit community and disability have been submitted for tabulation by the Assembly of Barekot and Sanibheri Rural Municipality) and Municipal Assembly of Aathbiskot and Nalgaad Municipality.
- The case related to polygamy was first registered in the district police office initiated by the organization and the case has been successfully registered in the court and is on further process.
- PTYSM has been lobbying and advocating for the policy-based budget to target the group for this fiscal year 2080/081.
- Legal aid capacity building training to Judicial committee, staff and PLLRPs (Para legal Local level Resource Person), law students, and CSO (Civil Society Organization) staff.
- Community-level rights advocacy campaign.
- Development and dissemination of radio PSA (Public Service Announcement), Mobilization of law students, Regular paralegal service to the beneficiaries through ‘helpline” and “defender booth” and engagement with social media for positive influence.
